Modern Beach House Refresh: Phase Two

Our Modern Beach House Refresh is moving full steam ahead! This second phase continues the transformation we started earlier this year — you can catch up on the before + demo process here

Design Intent

The design intent remains the same: create a modern, light, and comfortable beach home that feels fresh yet timeless. With the completion date quickly approaching, the late summer and early fall months have been filled with deliveries, installations, and plenty of progress. To recap, this 3 bed / 2 bath beach home is getting a full interior update — new paint throughout, fresh carpet, updated lighting, all new furniture, and functional upgrades like custom closets and a reimagined screened porch.

The main design goal continues to be coastal comfort with a modern edge: soft whites, layered neutrals, touches of honey bronze, and textures that feel relaxed but refined.

Design Direction

Here’s what the crew has been up to!

Painting is now complete — every interior wall and ceiling throughout the home received a fresh coat, instantly brightening the space. The update wrapped up with a full deep clean of all the tile and grout floors, leaving everything looking brand new and ready for the next phase of the transformation.

From there, new light fixtures started going up, adding warmth and character throughout the home. The change in tone and brightness is incredible; each fixture feels like jewelry for the space. Fresh carpet followed, softening the bedrooms and halls and tying the color palette together beautifully.

Kitchen Details That Make a Difference

In the kitchen, things are really taking shape. The island was freshly painted in a soft, nature-inspired green — a color that anchors the design palette for the entire home. From this upper-level living area, the views of lush treetops inspired a scheme of neutrals, greens, and hints of blue, creating a seamless connection between the indoor space and its coastal surroundings.

The old granite countertops are gone, making room for sleek, bright quartz. The backsplash installation is underway — a stunning zellige tile that’s full of handmade charm. Designers love it, installers… maybe a little less so!

Details are coming together too: new seeded glass in the cabinet doors, fresh champagne gold hardware replacing the outdated bronze, and window sills replaced in matching quartz. Every small upgrade brings a more cohesive, modern look to this central space.

Nothing transforms a room faster than new paint! The kitchen is getting a fresh, airy coat.

Even the old black granite window sills are being replaced to match the countertop quartz.

Before, the kitchen felt heavy with dark cabinetry and competing tones. Now, everything’s getting a refresh — the cabinets are being lightened up to create a bright, airy feel that complements the new quartz and zellige backsplash. It’s amazing how color alone can completely change the mood of a space.

This handcrafted zellige tile adds the perfect touch of warmth and texture to the kitchen. Each piece is slightly unique, creating a soft, reflective surface that catches the light beautifully — a subtle statement that feels perfectly coastal and perfectly modern.

Furniture delivery day was a big one! It’s always exciting to see the design plans come to life as each piece is unwrapped and placed.

Here’s a sneak peek for now!

Lower Level Refresh

Entry

At the entry, a new built-in area is taking shape to hold all the “beach life” essentials — hats, towels, and bags finally get a designated place to land.

Green & Blue Bedrooms

The two guest bedrooms — the blue and green rooms — are also mid-transformation. We’ve removed the heavy moulding and added white shiplap ceilings for a brighter, breezier feel. Once the new carpet, paint, and furniture are in, these rooms will feel completely reimagined.

Custom closets are going in throughout the home too, maximizing storage and making each room feel more functional.

Screen Porch

Out on the screened porch, our turtle-loving clients are getting a fun, personal touch that reflects their love of nature. Fresh paint, new furniture, and a few thoughtful updates will make this outdoor space just as welcoming as the interiors.

What’s Next

As we head into the final stretch, the big installations are nearly done, and the focus is shifting to styling — custom window treatments, bedding, pillows, artwork, rugs, and plants — all the layers that bring warmth and personality to the design. We can’t wait to share the final look soon!
